I’ve installed ESXi 6.5 OS version on a IBM Lenovo server hardware and ESX host has been patched with latest patch bundle.

ESX host added to the active directory network and I was able to login via SSH Putty session.

My next step is to apply available host profile in the same cluster which was applied for other hosts.

Host profile have been applied and all the required settings have been applied. However, the below starting showing from the ESX host summary tab –

Here is the steps what I’ve followed to fix the error:

Select the ESXi host and go to “Configure” tab and select “Advanced System Settings” option.

There I’ve typed “hyper” in the search box as shown in the below screen shot –

By default the value of the entry will be “0” and that need be set to “1” to fix the error.

Here is the name of the entry: UserVars.SupressHyderthreadingWarning

Just blindly follow the above steps to fix the “This host is potentially vulnerable to issues described in CVE-2018-3646” error on the ESXi host.
